Meet Dr. Ruiz
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Michelle Ruiz considers Amarillo, Texas, to be her hometown, and she loves practicing pediatric dentistry in the Texas Panhandle.
About Dr. Ruiz
Dr. Ruiz loves biology and chose dentistry because she could combine her medical knowledge with the ability to help patients improve their oral health. In 2001, Dr. Ruiz started a dental practice with her father. She joined AOMS Pediatric & Children's Dentistry in 2019 to be a part of a larger practice where she could interact and collaborate with other dental professionals. She loves the superb communication that the staff has with all of the patients and enjoys keeping up with the newest technologies and techniques.
To Dr. Ruiz, the most rewarding part about being a pediatric dentist is being able to relieve people of their pain and help them achieve a smile they can be proud of. She loves building lifelong connections with her patients and tries to talk with them to calm their fears and anxieties.

Dr. Ruiz earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and history from Amarillo College. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Texas Health Center in San Antonio.

Outside of Work
When she’s not at work, Dr. Ruiz likes to study history (especially WWII and the Civil War) and criminal science. She enjoys cross-stitching and Norwegian needleworking, called Hardanger.
